Seton Hill University and 2013 Sharks sophomore third baseman Nick Sell has been named the WVIAC Baseball co-player of the week. The awards were announced by the league office on Monday. West Virginia State’s Jack Hudson shared the award with Sell.
Sell led the Griffins to a 4-1 week with his spectacular play. At the plate, he was 9 of 16 (.563). Sell had 13 RBI and scored nine runs. Of his nine hits, five went for extra bases. Sell recorded two doubles and three round-trippers. Sell started the week with a 4-4 game at Bluefield State. He scored 5 runs, hit 3 homers and drove in 7 in the contest. In the field, he tallied a 1.000 fielding percentage.
On the season, Sell is leading the Griffins with .459 batting average. He has 9 doubles, 2 triples, 6 homers and has driven in a team high 33.
