SHARKS NICK SELL NAMED FINALIST FOR OUTSTANDING PLAYER IN DII COLLEGE BASEBALL

Nick Sell 1Ten finalists for the 2013 Tino Martinez Award have been announced. The award is presented to the most outstanding player in DII college baseball. The annual honor is named after the former University of Tampa Spartan, United States Olympian, first round draft pick and MLB All-Star, Tino Martinez.

Nick Sell, infielder for the Sharks this upcoming season, attending Seton Hill batted .431 in 58 games, had 57 RBIs, 13 HRs, 65 runs scored, 26 stolen bases, walked 38 times, an OB% of .521 and a slugging % of .731.

You will want to see him play under the lights at the Shark Tank this baseball season!

Initial nominations for the award were made by baseball sports information contacts and media members. A panel of media, coaches, sports information officers and former players voted to determine the finalists and the group will vote once again vote to determine the winner. A fan Internet vote is planned to also contributing to the crowning of the winner.

In what originally started as a list of 150 players and then ballooned to nearly 200 (see http://www.tinomartinezaward.com/pages/current.php for full list), only 10 remain in contention for this year’s Tino Martinez Award.
