The visiting North Shore Navigators were able to use a 3-run 7th inning to down the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks on a muggy night on the Vineyard. Sharks starter Jacob DeCarli (LIU Post) pitched a solid 5 innings, striking out 5 and not allowing a run, but it was reliever Matt Calamoneri (Scranton) who took the loss. Kyle Gauthier (Hartford) picked up the win, going 6 innings and allowing just the 2 runs.
Martha’s Vineyard was able to continue their quick starts by getting 2 quick runs in the 1st inning. Jon Mayer (Bucknell) ripped a double that scored Jack Roberts (Williams), which was followed by a Tim Bickford (Bridgeport) sacrifice that drove in Brian Campbell (Stonehill). Unfortunately, the Sharks were unable to score any more runs on the night. North Shore were able to tie up the game in the 3rd, and eventually take the lead in 7th inning, which they would never relinquish.
